Terms of use

MEQ Wheels is a marketplace. Vehicles are owned and supplied by independent partners; we operate the platform, verify vehicles and riders, handle payments, and support both sides.

Renting a vehicle

You must hold a valid driving licence for the class of vehicle you book, and you must be the person who rides it. Handing the vehicle to someone else ends the rental agreement and voids any insurance cover.

A refundable security deposit is collected when you collect the vehicle. Extra charges — additional kilometres, late return, refuelling, or damage — are settled from that deposit first, and the balance is returned within 48 hours of the return inspection.

Fuel is not included. Return the vehicle at the fuel level recorded at handover, or a refuelling charge applies.

Cancellation

Free up to six hours before your pickup time, refunded in full. Inside six hours, part of the rental amount is retained. Your security deposit is never affected by a cancellation.

Listing a vehicle

You must own the vehicle or have the owner's permission to rent it out, and it must carry valid registration, insurance, and a current PUC certificate. We verify these before a vehicle is listed and may remove a listing if a document lapses.

Commission is charged on the base rental only — never on tax, security deposits, or delivery charges. Your rate is shown in your partner dashboard and applies from the date it was agreed.

When things go wrong

Breakdowns, accidents, and disputes should be reported to us immediately. We coordinate between rider and owner. Liability for damage follows the condition record made at handover — which is why photographs are taken every time a vehicle changes hands.

We'll post any material change here and email registered users before it takes effect.
